Some pilots reported that mccPILOTLOG - Version 3.6 would no longer start, after it had worked for a long time. When the application is started, the Splash logo screen shows for a second, and the application then shutdowns without any error message.
The issue is caused by the security policy of Windows Defender. Adding mccPILOTLOG to the exclusion list, may or may not resolve the problem.
A workaround is to move mccPILOTLOG out of the Users directory, and move it to another place ! Moving it straight to the C:\ root has worked for all pilots that encountered this problem.
1) Move the Application Data folder
By default, the application data directory is stored in C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\MCC Pilotlog
You would then move the entire MCC Pilotlog folder to the Root of the PC, like C:\MCC Pilotlog
2) Edit the desktop icon
You must also edit the Target property from the Desktop icon. Continue with the guidelines from the following solution : Windows PC | How to install the software on my D:\ drive
3) Verify the Program files
Make sure you have the latest version of program files :
- open File Explorer
- go to the program files folder, typically C:\Program Files (x86)\MCC Pilotlog
- verify the Modified Date of the 2 applications
Dates must indicate 03 OCT 2012 and 21 OCT 2013. If that is not the case, then :
- download the following ZIP file
- drop (overwrite) the 2 applications in the program files folder
OK, this should fix the problem. If not, we recommend to switch to version 4.0 of mccPILOTLOG, developed for Windows & Mac. Continue here .
