Some users reported a problem with the installation of the Android app. 


Here are five different solutions to resolve this issue :


Method 1 - Uninstalling Update for HTC One M8/M9 Lock Screen app


  1. Go to Settings > Apps > All and find “HTC Lock Screen
  2. Tap on "Force Stop” 
  3. Tap on “Clear Data
  4. Select “Uninstall Updates



Method 2 - Clear Cache and Data for Google Play


  1. Go to Settings > Apps > All and select "Google Play Store"
  2. Tap on "Clear Cache" and "Clear Data" for Google Play Store
  3. Go to Settings > Apps > All and select "Google Play Services"
  4. Tap on "Clear Cache" and "Clear Data" for Google Play Services


Method 3 - Unmount the SD card


  1. Go to Settings > Storage down and select “Unmount SD Card
  2. Download / update our app from Google Play 
  3. Go back to Settings > Storage down and select “Re-mount SD Card



Method 4 - Moving apps to internal memory


  1. Go to Settings > Apps > All and select our app
  2. Select “Move to internal Storage
  3. Download / update our app from Google Play
  4. You can then move the app back to the SD Card or leave it on the internal storage



Method 5 - Uninstalling updates for Google Play Store


Note: This method has worked for most of the people. However, you might have to repeat this method later, as Google Play Store updates automatically


  1. Go to Settings > Apps > All and select “Google Play Store
  2. Tap on "Uninstall Updates"
  3. Go to Settings > Apps > All > and select "Google Service Framework"
  4. Tap on "Clear Data"
